I love how you take a little thing like noticing the best honey is on the bottom, and then transform it into a moment of contemplation in your poem. There are windows beyond the vale everywhere around us, even at the bottom of the honey jar!
If more people took time to notice, to wonder, and to write poetry, maybe we’d all live a little deeper.
Tyler, I am stirred by this poem. Truly, 'the world is charged'... even honey. For me the poem stirs up the promise of the Revelation "Behold I stand at the door..." And Matthew "For everyone who seeks, finds." And Lewis "Come further up and further in".
The poem does it's work of slowing us down to really taste the words and meanings. Wonder-fully satisfying.
Still one of your poems I like best! It captures the very essence of your nature, the part of you that beckons me to dig deep. The core that I wrestle with at times. The surface is so easy, sweet, quick, ready to consume instantaneously. Your presence in my life creates curiosity and cravings for more. An invitation not to settle for the numbing hum of this technological age, but to shake of the scales, peel back the layers, unravel the riches that lay in the deep.
You stir up our families life - in a beautiful way.
Brilliant poem, Tyler! I was in this issue too and somehow missed this piece. Glad I got to read it today.
Rosa, thanks for the kind words! Your "Look," was a pleasure to read, as well. Glad to be sharing the space with you!

What a fantastic insight into our current culture and contrast with a better way. Good words and strong, lovely poem.

Thanks Sarah! It's great to hear the connections this brought up for you. They invite me back in and give me new windows to look from.
Love this poem, Tyler!
